 Arrival by Car

From Vienna (Südautobahn A2, S6...) and Graz
If you are coming from this direction, drive past Bad Aussee on the B 145 and take the Altaussee exit first!

From Vienna (Westautobahn A1), Linz, Salzburg
Once you come down from the mountain pass: take the Altaussee exit straight away!

And further from the Altaussee exit
Take the first road to the right: the small Hiasngasse road immediately goes up the meadow to the right, turn left at the top, at the next fork turn right and  continue along Schmiedgutstrasse until the next right-left combination: please continue along the road here, even if the sat nav wants to go straight ahead! It then goes down the slope a little, soon the view opens up to a small chapel and the Schmiedgut sign to the left of it: you have reached Schmiedgut! Make a turn to the left, park your car in front of the garage and take a deep breath. Use the code at the entrance to get your card(s) to open the garage door: your vacation starts!
